I'm not really sure what type of girls you are looking to attract so I think that would have a bearing on my choices.

Personally, I like the haunted ride. Especially since the car has Moonlight in the name. But I'm weird like that.

Nobody wants to ride with the po' so I had to vote it down. Sensible but not sexy.

Don't put an old guy on your car. Period.

A little bonus:

"So, I wrote a bestselling romance novel. Unfortunately, the heavens didn’t open and shower me with fame, and money, and love. Well, I did get the fame and the money. And that’s when the trouble started. Since my book hit number one on the NY Times Best Seller list, I’ve been hit by a car, kicked off the Oprah show, blown up, and 3,405 women have proposed to me. I’ve also managed to lose two girlfriends, my dog, and I’m pretty sure there is a dead cat in my freezer. (I didn’t put it there.)"

You really needed the Fritos. Corn chips can be used for heating and light when you run out of candles. Just try doing that with Pez. And they are better with Spam.

when the world descends into anarchy - you will control the mayonnaise... truly one of the great literary triumphs... and the good news is that i have half a jar - that has to make me a baroness of mayonnaise ... or something!!

My husband seriously thought this was true... oh how gullible. =) Thankfully, I love him anyway.

I hear that the Donner Party is looking for a place to stay... ;)

We're anticipating 36 feet of snow in Peoria... should be fun.

Teresa,

This is not an uncommon justification of Sonic Guilt: The "It helps me excercise" excuse. Your penance (and a much better workout by the way) is to listen to the following during excercise: warm up with John Lennon's Watching the Wheels, then bust out George Clinton and Parliment Funkadelic's The Mothership Connection ablum, and finish with Guns 'N Roses You Could Be Mine to really feel the burn. Rock in peace, Citizen!

Dear Mollie,

Your Sonic Guilt must be heavy indeed. Not only is she an iPod guilty pleasure, but scientists in Germany have concluded that listening to her for extended periods can cause the excessive use of acronyms. Your penance is to listen to Raising Sand by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Rock in peace, Citizen!

Fergie - what does that even mean? FERGIE???

i'm addicted to the spelling - to the inevitability of F E R G I E landing on each track.

it "has a good beat and it's easy to dance to" - in the words of all those kids on American Bandstand.

how can something so contemporary be SO WRONG!!??

Nog with Pepsi 'used' to be one of my favorites. Now the thought of squirrel vomit somehow has ruined it for me. Couldn't you have waited until after the holidays to spring this on me? Makes me want to go to the dairy case an Krogers and label all the nog cartons "Caution Squirrel Vomit". I bet Michelle O. would have something to say about this!!

What a fantastic post, and another reason why I have such passion for social media! There is nothing in the world more powerful than meeting and connecting with others!

Here is a simple tweet that started a conversation leading to a post that might not only motivate one person back to pursuing their dream, but the potential for so many more who might read this post as well. (Not to mention the consumption of some Sweet Ass Cupcakes!) LOL

I am very humbled by this Jeff, and I also thank you in return for the inspiration.

LOVE IT!

Jeff,
Thanks for all the info - and sorry my delayed response!

Wow Bob Dylan?! That is pretty amazing, I would have thought the song predated him. If I ever meet Bob, I'll have to ask him that. :)

In the meantime I'll have to make it a point to head to "Nye's Polonaise" in Minneapolis and ask some of the polka guys there if they know anything more. I know they know the song, at least the drummer did, because he sang it for me one night; however after a few beers at Nye's I think I forgot to ask... Polka.

Thanks again!

Will China "give" us anything for California?!? We're so upside down on that investment we owe more in *interest and late fees* than the thing is worth! I knew there was a risk using that state-equity line to add cosmetic surgery coverage to the health care plan for undocumented workers...but I never saw the cost of college education for all domesticated animals rising so quickly. I'm just hoping we don't go to jail when we abandon the property and let the world foreclose on it.

I had a difficult time trying to make a decision as to what my condition is so I used the process of elimination.

Male Pattern baldness - NO, since I'm female.

Coulrophobia - NO, since all women have sometime or other in their lives have either dated or married a clown.

Mopery - NO, women always know exactly where they are going....shopping.

Must be Lou Gehrig's and since I am over 65 and don't have all that many years left and there is no known cure, I was told don't bother to respond.

Can I get treatment for the persistent nausea I experience every time I hear a politician talk about government health care?

Vernon - One question. I have alzheimer's and can't remember the month of my birth (let alone the year of my birth, place of my birth, or where's FDR? He was a good man. So much better than that commie Hoover.). Please send my decoder ring as soon as I find it.

PS:

This is not an occult science. This is not one of those crazy systems of divination and astrology. That stuff's hooey, and you've got to have a screw loose to go in for that sort of thing. Our beliefs are fairly commonplace and simple to understand. Humankind is simply materialized color operating on the 49th vibration. You would make that conclusion walking down the street or going to the store.

I'm with you on the brush hat. It could also help with health care (as a piece of exercise equipment) AND cleaning the planet (with the addition of a bio-degradable cleaning product).

Hey, Jeff! I saw the post on craigslist and took you up on the challenge...so here I am. Can I just say that there is not enough mental whiteout on the planet to erase the image of a bright pink naked man running after camels in the desert instead of Queen Beatrix (and hasn't the state of royals really fallen that they have to put up with crappy names like Beatrix.

Maybe the makers of Mummy 4 should just shoot for a "this won't suck as bad" subtitle? Naw, that would almost be truth in advertising!

Anyway, would love to discuss the SA's need for an intern...shoot me an email!

Last year I was again able to attend the Indy Air Show, only this time I took my little boy (he is 5). He and I had a wonderful time. He really enjoyed seeing the aircraft displays and the shows. I really enjoyed the F22 as I pulled up and the contrast between that and the older Mustang (now and then)later in the show. That was enough to give me chills and bring on tears I am not afraid to mention. We ended it off by watching the concert for a while and taking home some free dog food (made our dog happy). I look forward to attending again this year and hopefully bringing my whole family. I highly recommend this as one of the best events in the area. See you there!

Lou,

I don't follow hockey, so that mistake got right by me. Seeing that you are correct and that I cited the lesson plan correctly (see the link in the post), it is offensive and historically inaccurate.

I for one am glad to see PBS attempting to warn children about Reggie Miller. For too long now, Reggie Miller has terrorized this nation with his inane, mediocre commentary. I applaud PBS for standing up to this assbag.

I'm starting to think I've only been invited to provide the fodder in this thing. My picks march off to the contest with banners flying...and are mowed down like meat-shields in front of Tom and Doug and Tony's far-less impressive selections.

And still...aint it fun!

Congrats on the goal - that's awesome!

James and I had our fishes and loaves moments too. Working with the Marines and Toys For Tots, we had no clue if we were going to be able to give gifts to all of our families (we had a huge increase as well). At one point I even mentioned the loaves and fishes concept to the Gunny Sgt in charge of the toys - thankfully, he understood - and appreciated my words. We too ended up with toys left over and were able to give away more than they thought we were going to be able to give away.

TGCIO! Thank God, Christmas is Over! =)
Blessings.

You might want to add to the vows this important aspect of attire: TIES!

She must be able to discern which is the proper tie for your daily ensemble.

Until then, for as long as I am here, I will carry on with said duties.

I know this in aging post, but some new facts I overheard at the grocery store today may shine some light on the life-enhancing qualities of pudding. Pregnant women, who are encouraged to partake of prenatal vitamins to boost brain and heart growth of the fetus, typically eat pudding. Sometimes with additives like pickles, olives, or prenatal vitamins (incidentally, these vitamins are the size of horse pills). Is the correlation between pudding and projected success of the infant clear? Thought so.

Also, it is interesting to note that pudding consumption can also increase the birth rate. So, in the above findings of pudding-related deaths, these facts aim to reciprocate the pudding-positive lifestyles. Men who consume more than one serving of pudding a day have increased sperm motility rates; men who shun pudding rarely have the opportunity to employ sperm, motile or non-motile. Women who consume more than one serving of pudding a day have been shown to have increased flavor in their mouths; women who have pudding disdain have no one but themselves to taste their mouth. These findings are all inclusive, with a margin of error of 51%.

Just thought I'd add to the conversation. Oh, one more thing: Butterscotch has been shown to be directly related to possessing "luck" and increased winning of lotteries, side-bets, poker games, and rock-paper-scissors. It just happens to be my favorite.

First, thanks for reminding me to take my meds. I do, however, take offense to the "common housewife" comment. I am most definitely an UNcommon housewife. In fact I cannot even get into my house right now -- go figure. Also, I did not run for re-election when my term as precinct committeeman expired so I can only assume that you are speaking of other elected officials. There are many others, I am sure (particularly in Italy.)
