The Weird Series

29 October 2008 No Comment

Maybe it’s because this World Series has taken place so close to Halloween. Maybe it’s because the Phillies and Rays are playing. Maybe it’s because Bud Selig is still the Commissioner. For whatever reason, this isn’t the World Series, it’s the Weird Series. We’ve seen a 2 day delay in game 5. As I type, the Phillies are leading 4-3 in the top of the 9th and Brad Lidge is trying to close out the Rays.

I didn’t watch Obama’s infomercial before the game started. It’s not the 1st time a World Series has been delayed by someone campaigning for President. It certainly should be the last. I’ll miss baseball after tonight and wait patiently until Spring Training. Tomorrow I will post the Green Fields of the Mind by Bart Giamatti.

Carry on, Citizens!
