80′s Music
Is it just me or has the world been pretty much a desolate place since Adam Ant was on MTV. Come to think of it, when any music video was on MTV. Whatever your political leanings, one thing is for certain: MTV went to hell during the Clinton administration. I’m not saying it’s Bill’s fault. I just think he was too distracted to realize that our national institution was sliding down a slippery slope to pseudo-reality show oblivion.
As I’m writing this, there are NO videos airing in any time slots today. On MTV 2, there is one solitary hour devoted to music. Remind me again, what qualifies them to give out Music Awards? Oh, yeah they have a pseudo repository of music videos on their site. Unless your looking for Miley Cyrus or Clown-ye West, you’re better off using YouTube.
Anyway, you probably have one or two 80′s bands that you’ve been reluctant to tell your friends you liked. Or still like. So, I’m offering you this blog post to get it off your chest. Confess to the world your allegiance to Hair Bands, Alt rock, or even New Wave. Let me know who was/is your favorite 80′s indulgence(s) and include a link to one of their videos in the comment. And yes, I still have a crush on Martha Quinn.
… Carry on, Citizens!

Now see, I was gonna say the Hooters and you totally stole my thunder. No fair, dude! And by the way — I really liked “And we Danced” so feel free to add that one. You know — in all your spare time.
OK then, so how about…. Corey Hart, “Never Surrender.”
Ket,
