When I find a site that truly makes me laugh out loud, I have to share. Today, I got a huge boost out of Straight Cash, Homey.  I needed it bad, given the lousiness of my day.

Don’t let the site’s name fool you. SCH and it’s sister site on ESPN.com’s Page 2 is the essence of sports fandom, mixed with the sort of scorn and derision worthy of a Chritopher Guest Mockumentary.  The premise:  have folks from around the world send in photos of fans wearing their favorite sports team jersey. The twist: the jerseys have to be of those random players who are neither stars nor hip. Mix in a snarky comment about the unfortunate tool wearing the jersey and you have the makings of a web phenomenon.

Like many things, it helps if you have a working knowledge of the subject matter. So, if you don’t have a more than passing interest in sports, you won’t get it (not that there’s anything wrong with that). But, if you appreciate a good Bobby Hoying, Jabar Gaffney, or Aaron Brooks joke, read on!

So, hats off to SCH. I hope it makes your day. And I hope you don’t wind up on it one day. Now, I’ve got to go burn my Lance Blankenship Oakland A’s jersey…
